Couture Noir: A Six Piece ATC Collection

I like playing with my mists.  Sometimes I think that I am just wasting them.  I try to save my favorite papers and use them in projects for cards, tags or ATCs.  I'm not sure which sprays I even used on this paper.  They had to be from Lindy's Stamp Gang.  I own just a few of these. (wink)  The mask is one of Finnabair's by Prima.  The stamps are Darkroom Door, which a friend sent me.  Thanks C. O!  Gina's Designs and Distress Paints round out this collection.  Thanks for looking!

Even though I didn't make these for a challenge (I made them to say thank you in my own way!), I am entering the collection into the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge, because my people are there!

I Hate Yellow with Scrap Around the World

I have to thank Scrap Around the World for the June Challenge.  I know that the Mood Board is an inspiration piece and using the same colors isn't necessary.  When I saw this Mood Board, I thought, Yuck, yellow.  Here is the mood board.

sorry for the bad photography!

As I am writing this, I have shared this LO on Facebook with my friends.  One has commented: stunning!! (and I don't know why you hate yellow, it's so fun  ).  I just am not a fan of yellow. It's too happy.  Too exuberant.  It's like a puppy that won't leave you alone and keeps jumping on you.
It's too IN YOUR FACE for me!

I even wrote yellow a note on this LO.  It really should have been an art journal page, but I had created the back ground with gesso and Dylusions spray, and liked it.  The note reads:

Dear Yellow,
You were always there for me when I colored the sun, or Tweety Bird.
Beyond that, you stayed in the box.
I have to tell you that you are not my favorite color.  Many great things are yellow.
Flowers, the Sun, high end sports cars, even a cold play song.
But you're just not for me.
I hope we will be able to work together in the future when needed.

I finished this LO/ journal page/ self confession about yellow and guess what.  I like it!  I think it turned out pretty good for having yellow in it.  Who knows, maybe I will be using yellow again.

Thanks again, Scrap Around the World, for helping me face my fear of yellow!

S is for Steampunk

Who is ready for a steampunk project?  Get your gears in gear!  The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is going to challenge you to share your Steampunk creation.

Here is the inspiration that I have made for the challenge. I used colored pencils and acrylic paints on the stamped image.  I added lots of metals and a jaunty feather.

I framed my image with chipboard and decided to leave the rest of the card unembellished.  I did play around with other embellishments, but felt that they made the card too busy.  Best to keep the star of the show happy on this card.

Please check out the work of my fellow Snarky Sister's for this challenge.  We had a great time creating our inspiration pieces.

Playing with Fairies and Die Cuts

I've been looking for things to keep me busy..besides cleaning the house.
I found some challenges to play in.  And then I found a third.  I was able to combine a project into 3 challenges, just for fun.

Here are two different angles on my card, showing off sparkles.  I have a fairy, moon, sparkles, and a sentiment for Quirky Craft Challenges #12.

I am also entering this into The Cutting Edge Challenge.  It's their launch and they are looking for GDs.  I qualify for this as I used my Silhouette Cameo and my Sizzix Big Kick.

My third entry is for Shopping Our Stash: Use your oldest punch or die.  I used the die below:

It's not my oldest, as I sold those on Ebay years ago, but it's pretty close!

G is for Glitter!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers would like to welcome you to our newest challenge.  We are asking you to get out your herpes of the crafting world.  That's right, "G" is for Glitter.  Or maybe "G" is for "never GOES away."

Mounting created Bloggif

I'm going to admit that this card is on the poorly side.  I have plenty of excuses.  I went to Poland for a few days, I am a procrastinator, etc...

This is my first attempt at making a digital stamp, so I'm posting my card anyway.  Now I need to make a resolution to stop procrastinating.  I'll start tomorrow.

and a computer generated inside of card:
The pink paper is actually old glittery Doodlebug cardstock, and the messy dots on black are Stickles.  I think I am done playing with glitter for a week or two now.

Please check out the blogs of my fellow Snarky Sisters and that of our fabulous GD, Regan!

Oh Snap!

The other day the members of the Snarky Sisterhood were complaining about how we never go anywhere and never do anything. We decided we would try out Just Us Girls challenge blog.  I think we discussed the acronym for the blog.  Let's play with J.U.G.s!  It sounded like a great idea.

There is a sketch that we had to follow.  There is a theme to follow every week.  Here it is:

I started my search looking for something that I had four of.  I found the cameras, but went with the "OH SNAP" stamp to go along with these Prima cameras.  The cameras made me think of Bo Bunny's Mama-ratzi collection.

The "OH SNAP" and the film strip stamp were from Michael's that I had purchased for 70% off, but I don't remember the company.  The "happy birthday" was out of the dollar bin at Wal-Mart.  I stuck to the sketch and kept the card clean and simple.

Thanks for looking, and thanks, Just Us Girls, for getting the Snarky Stampers out of the house!

June Challenge #76 at Punky Scraps

Hello and welcome to the summer!  Our current mood board at Punky Scraps is sizzling hot!  (Too dorky?)  It is full of bright colors and some glitz.  We're also asking you to use a song title or your favorite lyrics for a title or journaling for this challenge.

Queen of Disaster

I used my one of my daughter's current favorite performers, Lana Del Ray, as the subject of this layout.  "Queen of Disaster," is the title of one of her songs from 2011 that wasn't officially released.  You can find it on YouTube, if you're interested.  I think she has a great voice, if not the happiest subject matter.

This Punky Scraps Challenge is open until July 10th.  That's right! We give you plenty of time.
