Wedded Bliss

It's that time agin! It's time to get our snark on!

For this challenge Edna wants you to think of weddings. What do weddings mean to you?
Bridezillas? Wedding toasts containing TMI? Drunken bridesmaids? Your 80 year old grandfather on the dance floor?

Edna wants you to use the saying, "Something old, something new; something borrowed; something blue." I always thought that it was a requirement that the bride had to wear each one of these things during the ceremony. Has something to do with some superstition I think.

Here is my take on the wedding theme. I went with a list on Facebook of funny (thanks, Majo!) tweets about marriage/ relationships. I was thoroughly amused by many of the items on the list, and this one made it onto my card.

You'd think that Stella and Gus from Bugaboo digital stamps would be my old item, but you'd be wrong. I bought this digi just for this challenge. Thank you, Christmas in July! Gus and Stella are new to me. Gus's shirt is blue. What's old? The patterned paper. It's from the Basic Gray "Skate Shop" collection, which I think I purchased when my son was two. He's turning 16 shortly. And I already told you my borrowed, which was the sentiment.

Please join us for this challenge. You can be as snarky, or as sweet as you please. You have until 2355 EST (11:55 p.m.) on September 1st, 2017 to upload your project here. Please visit the snarky blogs of my snarky sisters and our current Queen of Snark, Ike, and let them know how awesome they are.

What's Under Yer Kilt?

The sisters want to know What's Up yer kilt.

Edna has been having impure thoughts about guys in kilts. I blame all those episodes of Outlander that she has watched. So she's making us do a challenge for "U is for Up Yer Kilt." While I've never had a chance to check for myself, here is my answer.

Now it's your turn to play along with our current challenge. Use plaid, make kilt jokes, use something Scottish, you get the idea. You have until Friday, August 4 at 2355 EST (11:55p.m) to enter this challenge where we could crown you the next Queen of Snark!

For more inspiration please visit my Snarky Sisters to see what they came up for this challenge. Thanks for stopping by my blog and having a look.

Kids vs. Farts

Two more weeks have flown by and Edna says it's time for us to get back to work. You see all of Edna's kids there? She is always busy working if she has that many kids! Which now brings us to challenge #88 K is for Kids.

My project is a piece of paper that I had laying around.  I think this one was Gelli printed also, or maybe it was brayered, I can't remember which. I added the stencil and the painted rings with the colors that were in the background. The paints and the stencil are both Dylusions, while the people are from Tim Holtz, and the sentiment is computer generated. I just stole the sentiment off the internet because it is too perfect for this challenge.

You have until 2355 (or 11:55 pm) EST on Friday, July 21st to enter the K is for Kids challenge.

Please visit my sarcastic sorority and our current Queen of Snark, Donna, to see what they have made for your inspiration.

As always, thanks for stopping by my blog and taking a look.

The Art of Art-i-ness

The Sisterhood is getting arty and wants to see your arty techniques. Do you like splatters? Layers? Texture?

In my stash I found I had a Gelli printed piece of paper.  I cut the paper into 4 (not equal because that would require measuring)pieces.  I added some stamping, then another layer of white Gelli printing with a stencil, followed with some black spatters. The papers seemed to plain, so I added a contrasting lime green paint for liveliness. I took out my rapidly aging sewing machine (the bobbin winder quit working two years ago) to stitch a border around each card; then I added sentiments and Tim Holtz's Found Relatives. Viola! Art themed cards with kids.

You have until 11:55 PM EST on Friday July 7 to upload your ARTY project HERE. Please visit our current Queen of Snark, Queen Toni, and my fellow Snarky Sisters to see what inspiration we have made for you. Thanks for stopping by and having a peek at my blog.

I'm Not Drunk. Yet

I haven't gotten anything made for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers lately. I have been on quite the bender! However I managed to sober up long enough to create a card for a challenge that is close to my heart. Welcome to Challenge #86: D is for Drunk!

Here is my project that I sobered up to make. The image of the not so happy lady I bought from Lisa's Altered Art on Etsy. That little shop has a bunch of fun vintage images for sale. The sentiment stamp is from Riley and Co.

If you would like to join in the drunken revelry, you have until 11:55 PM EST on Friday, June 23rd to upload your project on the Sisterhood's challenge post. Please visit our reigning Queen of Snark, Emily, and my fellow Snarky Sisters to see what that managed to pull themselves together and make for your inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by, and CHEERS! Now where did I sit my gin and tonic?
